The length of the confirmation time depends on several factors, including the network's design, the current network congestion, the transaction fees, and the consensus mechanism.

Here is an overview of block confirmation times for Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, and Sui networks:

  • Bitcoin: The block generation time in the Bitcoin network is approximately 10 minutes. Typically, a transaction is considered preliminarily confirmed after 1 block confirmation. However, for higher security, it is recommended to wait for 6 block confirmations (around 1 hour) to ensure the transaction's irreversibility.

  • Ethereum: The average block generation time in Ethereum is approximately 12 seconds. Generally, a transaction is considered secure after 12 confirmations (around 2 minutes), but for large transactions, more confirmations might be required to enhance security.

  • Solana: Known for its high performance, Solana processes about 50,000 transactions per second on average, with a final block confirmation time of 2.3 seconds.

  • Sui: Sui is an emerging high-performance blockchain designed to handle approximately 120,000 transactions per second, with transaction completion times of around 390 milliseconds.
