I. Project Overview

Billions Network is a decentralized network focused on human-and-AI verification, formerly known as Polygon ID and Privado ID. The project leverages zero-knowledge proof technology to enable users to complete identity verification using only a smartphone and government-issued documents, without requiring dedicated hardware or exposing personal privacy data. Its technology stack has supported over 9,000 ZK and identity projects globally, with partners including HSBC, Sony Bank, TikTok, and the Government of India.

II. Project Introduction

The internet is facing a growing trust crisis. According to data cited by the project, over 51% of internet traffic originates from bots or unverifiable sources. Deepfakes, fraudulent accounts, and synthetic identities are eroding the foundation of online trust. Meanwhile, AI agents are being deployed at scale across the internet yet lack traceable identity verification mechanisms, leaving users unable to determine who controls them. Global losses from identity fraud exceed $30 billion annually and are growing at an estimated CAGR of 35%.
Billions Network's core philosophy is "Verify Once, Prove Anywhere." Users complete identity verification within seconds by scanning the NFC chip of their passport or ID document through a mobile app, combined with liveness detection. The verification information is encapsulated as a zero-knowledge proof credential without storing raw data. Users can reuse this credential across platforms to prove specific attributes (such as "is a real person," "is of legal age," KYC compliance status, etc.) without repeatedly exposing personal information.
Compared to other projects in the decentralized identity space (such as World/Worldcoin), Billions differentiates itself by avoiding invasive biometric hardware such as iris scanners; verification can be completed using everyday consumer devices. The project also extends identity verification to AI agents — through the Know Your Agent (KYA) framework, AI agents can obtain verifiable identities tied to traceable humans or organizations, enabling users to confirm the trustworthiness of the party they are interacting with when engaging with AI.

III. Products & Technology

Core Technology Stack

Billions Network's underlying technology is built on the Privado ID (formerly Polygon ID) infrastructure and the open-source ZK proof framework Circom. Circom is a zero-knowledge proof programming tool developed early by the team and has become the de facto standard for ZK programming in the Web3 space. The core technical architecture includes the following modules:
Iden3 Protocol: An Ethereum-based decentralized zero-knowledge proof identity management framework supporting the creation of DIDs (Decentralized Identifiers), key rotation, and self-resolution. The protocol provides a client-side ZK prover (supporting mobile and browser), allowing users to complete proof computation on their local devices without transmitting sensitive data to servers.
Identity State Anchoring: Anchors identity state changes to the blockchain, supporting multi-chain on-chain verification (currently covering Ethereum, Polygon PoS, Aurora, Linea, BNB Chain, etc.), and enabling cross-chain identifier transmission through identity state oracles.
Context-Based Unique Identifier (CBUID): To address the "uniqueness vs. anonymity paradox" raised by Vitalik Buterin in his digital identity paper, Billions adopts a context-based unique identifier scheme. Each application generates a random profileNonce that is hashed with the user's primary identifier to produce an independent DID. Since the nonce is completely random and locally generated, no server or issuer can track the same user across applications, fundamentally preventing cross-platform user profiling and surveillance.
Privacy-Preserving On-Chain Revocation: Supports privacy-preserving credential revocation both on-chain and off-chain, allowing users to withdraw issued identity credentials at any time.

Key Products

Billions App (Mobile + Web): The primary entry point for users to complete identity verification, supporting iOS and Android. Users undergo "Progressive Verification" through passport NFC scanning and liveness detection, including tiers such as uniqueness verification, KYC/AML verification, and social account binding. The app accumulated over 2.3 million users within 8 months of launch, with more than 300,000 app downloads.
Official Profiles: Verified official identity profiles divided into three tiers—Basic Badge, Verified Badge, and Premium Badge—providing users with trusted reputation credentials across different platforms.
Know Your Agent (KYA): An identity authentication framework for AI agents (Deep Trust Framework) that assigns verifiable identities to AI agents, linking them to traceable humans or organizations so that AI can prove its origin, training data, and behavioral authorization when interacting with users.
Developer Toolset: Includes Issuer Node (credential issuance node), Verifier SDK (OAuth-like in-app authorization flow), Wallet SDK, on-chain issuer and verifier contracts, etc., for integration by third-party developers and enterprises.

IV. Token Economics

BILL is an ERC-20 standard utility token with a fixed total supply of 10 billion tokens and no inflation mechanism. The Token Generation Event (TGE) was completed on May 4, 2026, with an initial circulating supply of approximately 24%. In terms of token allocation: the community accounts for 40%, used for staking, airdrops, hackathons, and growth incentives; foundation reserves account for 32%, used for liquidity, operations, and stability, released linearly over 4 years; contributors (team) account for 20%, subject to a 1-year lock-up period followed by linear release over 3 years; investors account for 6%, subject to a 12-month lock-up period with full release over 4 years; and the creator program accounts for 2%, used to reward long-term content contributors.
The project adopts a progressive token release strategy rather than a one-time large-scale unlock. By timeline: approximately 24% enters circulation at TGE; this grows to approximately 45% by the end of Year 1; approximately 62% by Year 2 (when investors and contributors begin their first unlocks); approximately 83% by Year 3; and 100% fully allocated by Year 4.
BILL tokens are designed around network usage rather than speculation. Their primary utilities include: a 10%-15% discount when using BILL to pay for verification and credential fees; building reputation scores, accessing premium features, and participating in network governance through BILL staking; serving as collateral for AI agents and trusted applications; acting as an anti-spam mechanism for Decentralized Identifiers (DIDs); and future protocol governance voting rights.

V. Team & Investors

Core Team

The Billions Network team is deeply rooted in the Polygon ecosystem and the decentralized identity space.
Evin McMullen — Co-Founder & CEO. A seasoned expert in digital identity, she previously founded Disco.xyz (a decentralized identity credential platform). She joined the team after Privado ID's independence and leads the commercial strategy.
David Z (David Schwartz) — Co-Founder. Also one of the co-founders of Polygon, he previously served as Polygon's CTO and led the Polygon ID and Polygon zkEVM projects. He is also the project lead for the Iden3 protocol — an Ethereum-based decentralized zero-knowledge proof identity management framework.
Oleksandr Brezhniev — CTO. Responsible for technical architecture and engineering team management.
Miriam Sancho Rodriguez — COO. Responsible for day-to-day operations and organizational management.
On the advisory side, Sandeep Nailwal, co-founder of Polygon Labs and current CEO of Polygon Foundation, serves as a growth advisor, continuing to provide support for the project's expansion.

Billions Network has completed a total of $30 million in funding. Disclosed investors include Coinbase Ventures, Polychain Capital, P2 Ventures (formerly Polygon Ventures), Liberty City Ventures, BITKRAFT Ventures, and 071labs. This investor lineup covers mainstream crypto VCs and strategic industry investors, reflecting continued institutional interest in the decentralized identity space.

VI. Roadmap

Billions Network's development progresses in three stages:
Stage One: Human & AI Internet
This is the project’s current stage, focused on establishing boundaries between humans and machines. Key milestones include: mobile app launch (completed), progressive identity verification system launch (completed), BNB Chain multi-chain expansion (completed January 2026), BILL token TGE (completed May 2026), and Binance Alpha listing. According to the project, within 8 months of launch, it has gained over 2.3 million users, 550,000 X platform followers, and 680,000 Discord users.
Stage Two: Reputation Layer
This stage aims to connect humans and AI agents through a verified reputation system. Key focuses include: deepening the Official Profiles reputation system, scaling the KYA (Know Your Agent) framework, launching staking and reputation scoring mechanisms, and introducing governance voting features.
Stage Three: Global Trust Economy
The ultimate vision is to establish a rich identity ecosystem supported by trusted credentials, making trust the default attribute of the internet rather than the exception. This stage will involve large-scale cross-industry credential interoperability, deeper integration with more government and enterprise identity systems, and the construction of trust infrastructure for the AI agent economy.

VII. Risks & Opportunities

Opportunities

Large Market Opportunity: Against the backdrop of proliferating AI-generated content and an intensifying internet trust crisis, decentralized identity verification is becoming a necessity. Global regulators are imposing increasingly strict digital identity compliance requirements (such as the EU MiCA regulation and age verification policies in various countries), creating policy-driven demand pull for the project.
Strong Technical Foundation: The team has been building underlying technology since the Polygon ID era. Circom and the Iden3 protocol lead in adoption within the ZK space, and the integration base of over 9,000 projects constitutes a considerable network effect.
Hardware-Free Verification Model: Compared to competitors like World (Worldcoin) that require iris-scanning hardware, Billions' mobile-first approach has natural advantages in accessibility and scalability, with lower barriers to adoption.
Enterprise-Level Partnership Foundation: Established partnerships with institutions such as HSBC, Sony Bank, TikTok, the Government of India, and the Spanish Red Cross demonstrate real-world demand.

Risks

Intensifying Competition: The decentralized identity track already has multiple strong competitors, including World (Worldcoin), Civic, and Galxe. While projects differ in technical approaches and market strategies, they are competing for a highly overlapping user base.
Token Economics Remain Unproven: Although the project describes a "usage-driven" economic flywheel, the token has been trading for a short time. Actual network fee revenue, staking participation rates, and token demand remain to be validated by the market.
Unlock Pressure: The initial circulating supply is approximately 24%, rising to approximately 45% by the end of Year 1. Subsequent investor and team token unlocks may impact market supply.
Regulatory Uncertainty: The project whitepaper states disclosure in accordance with EU MiCA regulations and has notified the Spanish CNMV. However, regulatory frameworks for tokenized identity services are still evolving across global jurisdictions, and policy changes may affect project operations.
User Retention & Real Usage: Despite impressive growth figures (2.3 million users in 8 months), the sustainability of user growth and activity levels require continuous tracking. It is necessary to distinguish between incentive-driven registrations and genuine product usage demand.
Technical Security Risks: The security of zero-knowledge proof systems depends on the correctness of underlying cryptographic assumptions and smart contract implementations. Any critical vulnerability could compromise the entire trust system.

VIII. Conclusion

Billions Network is a decentralized identity verification project with solid technical foundations and a prominent team background. The evolution from Polygon ID to Privado ID to Billions has allowed the project to accumulate years of zero-knowledge proof technology development experience and extensive enterprise-level partnerships. In the context of AI's rapid penetration of the internet, its narrative around human-and-AI verification aligns with current market demands. Its mobile-first approach without dedicated hardware offers stronger accessibility and scalability, and the KYA framework's design of extending identity verification from humans to AI agents demonstrates a forward-looking approach.
At the same time, it is worth noting that the project token has just begun trading, and its economic model has yet to undergo a complete market cycle test. Competition in the decentralized identity space is intensifying, and the sustainability of user growth and real demand for the token require time to validate. The $30 million in funding and the backing of institutions such as Coinbase Ventures and Polychain Capital provide strong financial backing for the project. However, whether it can ultimately achieve its vision of a "Global Trust Economy" depends on execution, ecosystem expansion, and market adoption.
