Biometric Passkey

What is Biometric Passkey? How to Create One?
A biometric passkey is a convenient feature used to verify your identity, primarily for two-factor authentication. It provides a password-free, code-free quick login experience while offering the strongest protection for account security.
Preparation Before Setting Up a Biometric Passkey:
You can use the following devices to create a biometric passkey.:
On Mobile: Install and use iOS 16.0.0 / Android 7.0 or newer versions
On Desktop: Install and use Windows 10 / macOS Ventura or newer versions
Please use a browser that supports biometric passkeys, such as:
Chrome 109 or newer versions
Safari 16 or newer versions
Edge 109 or newer versions
How To Set a Biometric Passkey for My Account?
Step 1: Complete Verification
Go to the personal center homepage, select "Security" — on the new page, click the ">" on the right side of "Passkey (biometric)".
Click "Create a Passkey", then click "Continue" to proceed with creating the biometric passkey. You need to authenticate your identity first. Please complete the security verification tied to your current account for identity authentication.
Step 2: Setting Up the Biometric Passkey
After completing identity authentication, you can choose one of the following two methods to create a biometric passkey:
Method 1: Create a biometric passkey on this device.
Create the biometric passkey on the device you're currently logged in to: Click "Continue" — complete biometric authentication or enter your password on your device.
Method 2: Create a biometric passkey using another device (available only on desktop, not on mobile)
Note: To use this method, you need to update your phone or tablet to iOS 16.0.0 or higher, or Android 7.0 or higher.
Click "Phone or Tablet" — use the built-in QR code scanner on your phone or tablet to scan the QR code that appears in the browser.
Complete the verification on your phone or tablet.
Step 3: View Details and Log In
After successfully creating the biometric passkey, you can view details on the passkey page and modify the passkey name.
Next time you log in, you can choose to use the biometric passkey for password-free login.
Use Biometric Passkey
A. Use your current device for verification.
Log in to your account.
The system will prompt you to use biometric login with your password.
You can also choose to continue with "Log in with password" for verification.

B. Verify using another device.
Log in to your account.
The system will prompt you to log in to another device using your password.
Alternatively, you can choose to use a different phone or tablet to obtain the QR code.
Use the other device to scan the QR code and log in to Hotcoin.
Rename Passkey
You can go to the Personal Center >> Account Security >> Passkey to rename your passkey, helping you easily identify it.
Note: Changing the passkey name will only affect the Hotcoin passkey management page. If you want to directly change the device name, you can edit the device name in the Device Management > Linked Devices section of your Chrome browser.
Delete Passkey
The limit for passkeys on different devices under the same account is 10. If there are more than 10, you can delete any unused passkeys. Deleting a passkey may lower the security level of your account or device. It is strongly recommended to consider the associated risks before proceeding.

Friendly reminder: Please store, protect, and keep your biometric passkey safe. If it is lost, stolen, or potentially compromised, please contact us promptly. Do not authorize any third party or third-party platform to use your passkey or other account login credentials (such as password) to prevent potential asset loss.
