An MPC wallet, or Multi-Party Computation Wallet, is a cryptocurrency wallet that utilizes Multi-Party Computation (MPC) technology for key management and transaction signing. MPC technology allows multiple parties to jointly compute a function without revealing their individual input data. This feature provides significant advantages in terms of security and user experience.


How MPC Wallets Work


1. Key Sharding: In an MPC wallet, the private key is divided into multiple parts (called key shards) and distributed among different participants. Each participant holds only a portion of the key, and no single participant can use the key independently.

2. Multi-Party Computation: When a transaction signature is needed, all participants use their key shards to perform a computation via the MPC protocol, collectively generating a valid signature without revealing their key shards.
