I. Project Overview
Alphabet Inc. is one of the world's largest internet and artificial intelligence companies, founded on September 4, 1998, and listed on NASDAQ. On-chain, GOOGL enters the crypto market in tokenized form, currently issued by Ondo Global Markets. The on-chain price currently trades at approximately a 1.5% discount to the spot price, with this spread primarily stemming from pricing lags during U.S. market closures and differences in on-chain liquidity depth.
II. Project Introduction
Alphabet is the holding parent company of Google. Approximately 80% of its revenue comes from Google Services, the vast majority of which is advertising; this also includes subscription services such as YouTube TV, YouTube Music, and Google One, Play Store platform fees, as well as hardware including Pixel and Chromebooks. Google Cloud accounts for roughly 20% of total revenue, with the remainder coming from frontier businesses such as Waymo (autonomous driving), Verily (healthcare), and Google Fiber.
In fiscal year 2025, Alphabet surpassed $400 billion in annual revenue for the first time, with Q4 revenue reaching $113.8 billion, up 18% year over year, and Google Cloud growing 48%. Entering 2026, growth accelerated further. Q1 2026 revenue reached $109.9 billion, up 22% year over year, the fastest quarterly growth since 2022, while operating margin expanded from 33.9% to 36.1%.
On-chain, the tokenized version of GOOGL (GOOGLon) is issued by Ondo Global Markets, a platform that launched in September 2025 and has now become the world's largest tokenized stock/ETF platform.
III. Product & Technology
Alphabet's technological moat is built on a "full-stack AI" foundation: proprietary chips, models, products, and distribution channels.
Search & Advertising: The market's biggest concern was that AI-powered search would erode search advertising. Q1 data provided the opposite answer: Search and other revenue grew 19.1% year-over-year to $60.4 billion, while paid clicks increased 13% and cost-per-click rose 5%, indicating strength in both volume and pricing. Management stated that over the past five years, while continuously adding new AI features, search latency has decreased by over 35%. After AI Overviews and AI Mode were upgraded to Gemini 3, core AI response costs dropped by more than 30%.
Cloud & Enterprise AI: Q1 cloud revenue grew 63% year-over-year, surpassing $20 billion for the first time, with backlog orders nearly doubling quarter-over-quarter to over $460 billion; enterprise AI solutions became the primary growth engine for the cloud business for the first time. Cloud operating margin expanded to 32.9%.
Models & Chips: Gemini 3 was released in November 2025, and the Gemini app now has over 750 million monthly active users. The proprietary TPU (seventh-generation Ironwood) has secured external clients including Meta, positioning Alphabet as a credible alternative to NVIDIA GPUs.
Other Businesses: Waymo now handles over 500,000 fully autonomous trips per week; Gemini Enterprise paid MAUs grew 40% quarter-over-quarter.
IV. Economic Model
As a mature equity asset, GOOGL's value capture comes from three key areas.
Revenue Structure: Advertising remains the cash flow cornerstone (Q1 advertising revenue of $77.25 billion, of which YouTube ads were $9.9 billion, up 11%), while the cloud business provides a secondary growth curve, and "other bets" offer option value.
Capital Expenditure & Free Cash Flow: This is the most critical valuation variable at present. Q1 capital expenditure reached $35.7 billion, surging 107% year-over-year, causing free cash flow to decline 47% year-over-year to $10.1 billion; the company raised its full-year 2026 capital expenditure guidance to $180–190 billion. Free cash flow margin compressed from 21% to 9.2%, meaning depreciation pressure in the coming quarters will continue to erode book returns.
Equity Structure & Shareholder Returns: Alphabet employs a three-class share structure: GOOGL (Class A, 1 vote), Class B (10 votes, held by founders), and GOOG (Class C, no voting rights), allowing the founders to maintain long-term control. The company returns cash through quarterly dividends and large-scale share buybacks.
Tokenization Mechanism: Ondo's tokenized stocks are total-return tracking instruments, with a U.S.-licensed broker holding corresponding stocks on a 1:1 basis; dividends, after withholding tax, are automatically reinvested, reflected as an increase in the number of tokens held rather than a price adjustment. Effective June 26, 2026, GOOGLon and other instruments support 24/7 minting and redemption.
V. Team & Investors
Founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin have stepped back from day-to-day management but retain actual control through Class B shares. The current CEO is Sundar Pichai, the CFO is Anat Ashkenazi, and Ruth Porat serves as President and Chief Investment Officer. Google DeepMind, led by Demis Hassabis, serves as the hub for model research and development.
As a trillion-dollar company, Alphabet's "investors" are global institutional and retail shareholders, with passive asset managers such as Vanguard, BlackRock, and State Street consistently ranking among the top holders.
VI. Roadmap
Alphabet's roadmap can be summarized along three main tracks:
First, compute delivery. Management has clearly stated that the cloud business is constrained by capacity; server racking speed, rather than demand, will determine subsequent growth rates. Q2 and Q3 cloud revenue growth may moderate from 63% due to capacity rather than demand. The pace of executing the $180–190 billion capital expenditure plan is the most important observation point for 2026.
Second, AI commercialization deepening. The iteration of AI Mode on the search side, expansion of Gemini Enterprise seats, and external TPU sales represent three channels for converting capital expenditure into revenue.
Third, continued progress toward profitability in newer businesses. Waymo is moving from scale expansion to improving unit economics, with the market closely watching whether it can approach breakeven around 2027.
On the on-chain side, Ondo is pushing tokenized stocks into derivatives and collateral use cases. Ondo Perps began public beta testing in June 2026, offering non-U.S. eligible users up to 20x leverage on tokenized stock perpetual contracts and allowing tokenized securities to serve as margin.
VII. Risks & Opportunities
Regulatory and legal risks are the most prominent. In September 2025, Judge Mehta's remedies ruling, while not mandating the divestiture of Chrome, prohibited Google from entering into exclusive distribution contracts for Search, Chrome, and Gemini apps, and required sharing of search indexes and user interaction data with qualified competitors; Google filed an appeal on January 16, 2026, while the DOJ filed a cross-appeal on February 3 seeking stronger structural remedies. In the ad tech antitrust case, the DOJ is pushing for a forced divestiture of AdX, with a remedies ruling expected within 2026; the EU has already issued a €2.95 billion fine in a similar case.
Financial risks center on the return cycle of capital expenditure. With depreciation front-loaded and revenue back-loaded, if AI demand falls short of expectations, profit margins will come under pressure. Competitive risks arise from model providers such as OpenAI and Anthropic diverting traffic away from traditional search, as well as the long-term ecosystem issues caused by AI-generated answers compressing click-through rates.
Tokenization-specific risks should not be overlooked: issuer credit and custody risk, slippage and premium/discount due to insufficient on-chain liquidity (currently ~1.5% discount), pricing vacuums during U.S. market closures, smart contract and bridge risks, and regional compliance restrictions.
Opportunities are equally clear: cloud backlog orders have reached the $460 billion level, providing strong revenue visibility over the coming years; TPU external sales open up a second growth curve; and the overall tokenized stock market has surpassed $1.5 billion. If this sector continues to expand, GOOGLon, as a blue-chip asset, still has significant room for growth in on-chain liquidity and use cases (collateral, portfolio construction, 24/7 trading).
VIII. Conclusion
Alphabet finds itself in a rare state: core business accelerating, cloud business booming, and full-stack AI capabilities paying off, while simultaneously carrying the heaviest capital expenditure in its history and the most complex antitrust litigation. The market reaction to the Q1 earnings report, which strongly beat expectations while the stock price weakened, perfectly illustrates the market's current valuation dilemma: the market acknowledges growth, but is still repricing how much cash is being spent for that growth.
For on-chain investors, GOOGLon offers a new channel to gain exposure to a U.S. blue-chip stock, rather than a new asset class. Its risk-return profile is essentially still Alphabet's equity risk, layered with tokenization infrastructure risk and a liquidity discount.
